Football Season is Here! Change it Up a Bit With a Healthy Snack

Football Season is Here! Change it Up a Bit With a Healthy Snack

Football season is here! That means Saturdays, Sundays, and even Monday nights will be occupied with the big games highlighted by our favorite teams, friends hanging out on our couches and lots of snacks while we watch. Nothing is better than good old chips and dip while watching the game. Here's a healthy snack to fit perfectly with your game day display.

Whale Tails Tortilla Chips, first off, cover us in the health department. They are organic, gluten free, non gmo project verified and environmentally friendly among other benefits. In other words, if there was a chip to eat, these are the chips.

Whale Tails Tortilla Chips also fit into the nature of game day perfectly. Our chips are fun and fit fun occasions very well. They are shaped like whale tails and there's nothing more fun than that when it comes to chips.

However, most importantly, these chips are great snacks. There's great flavors like Original Alaea Gourmet Sea Salt, Hawaiian Barbeque and Blue Corn. They taste even better than the salty and greasy potato chips that act as alternatives.

Plus, you can eat them with all your favorite dips whether they be salsa, cheese or whatever else! Whale Tails Tortilla Chips are a healthy and tasty replacement for potato chips on game day.

The Keys to Healthy Vending Machine Snacking

Vending machines aren't the first thing that people think of when someone says health food, but just because you're headed to the breakroom for a mid-afternoon snack doesn't mean you can't beat the munchies and nourish your body at the same time.

The key to a healthy vending machine experience is forethought. Try to find something that is low (or moderate) in calorie count, but still filling.
Here are a few tips to keep your trip to the vending machine from being a diet disaster.

Fiber keeps you full, and can help to keep the glycemic index down to boot, so look for whole grain options.

Protein is another gut-pleaser. Like fiber, it will keep you full longer, so you can avoid additional trips to the vending machine, or worse, a quick stop at a fast food restaurant on the way home. Look for seeds and nuts for a quick protein boost in a low-cholesterol package.

Beware of empty calories. Sugar-laden candy and processed baked goods can leave you hungry for more even after you've consumed as much as 300 calories! No nutritional value here. Look for something that not only has some fiber to keep you full, but also a dose of the good stuff. How about our organic blue corn ships infused with chia? They're packed with omega-3, essential amino acits, and calcium. There's nothing empty about this snack!

Avoid sodium traps. Processed foods account for most o f our sodium consumption. Skip the salty potato chips and the leathery, sodium-riddled beef jerkey. Fortunately, the gourmet Hawaiian sea salt that we use on our chips is astonishingly low in sodium content.

Bottom line: take just a minute to consider your options when you're standing in front of the vending machine. With the right snack choice, the afternoon craving can be conquered!

Whale Tails: Healthy Snacks for Healthy Eaters

Do you love snacking? Enjoy catching a quick bite between meals? Well congratulations, because recent research by the NPD group suggests that people with the healthiest eating habits are also the most frequent snackers.

According to the release from the NPD research group, "consumers with the healthiest diets consume 36 percent more snack meals a year than the average consumer." So if you're eating light, healthy snack foods in addition to your regular meals, you're actually helping your diet and your health. Pretty awesome, right?

And if you're going to be snacking on something, your best choice woudl be one of the healthy snacks from Whale Tails Tortilla Chips. Our chips are all made with natural, kosher, organic ingredients such as Alaea Hawaiian sea salts, sun-ripened mango, and heart-healthy chia seeds. You don't have to do much research to know that these snacks are both good-tasting and good for you.

For instance, our Blue Tor"Chia" Chips have only 130 calories in a 1-ounce serving, and also give your body healthy Omega-3 fatty acids. Bet you've never had a handful of cookies or bowl of ice cream that could say that on the package.

Everybody snacks sometimes - with a busy, active life, you're bound to get hungry before it's dinnertime every now and again. So why not choose the snack that's actually good for your diet and for your body? We promise, you're not going to regret it. After all, the research says we're right.

Aloha and get the guacamole!

Dude! I thought the tortilla chip innovation nation was over a long time ago.  I mean how can genius be duplicated in the 21St Century?  I didn't know I was tired of almost munching on my fingers every time we go to that one chick's house for parties, until I saw these chips.  Makes me want to go down to the Mavericks and party hearty.  And eat chips.
Now just talking about it makes me want to grub on some of those babys! Anyway, can you believe that now I have to watch my cholesterol! These are different, made with chia seeds, full of Omega 3"s whatever that is,  and your bro Irving can eat them because they are kosher.

Hawaiian salt, for sure does that even really exist?  Organic (like me!!), ya called Alaea salt. Well whatever, it's still really great with Pabst!  Dude, what day is it, hey wanna go surfing? So you have to watch your gluten? Why? You're only 40!  Don't old people have to quit gluten?  Anyway what IS gluten?  And why can't you eat it?

That old lady that works in the corner store told me this Alaea salt is good for ya.  She said she read in www.whaletaleschips.comThat..."Alaea is unique to the Hawaiian Islands and legendary for being low in sodium content , 3% to be exact , and high in essential trace minerals that our bodies require. Alaea is sun dried, never processed, and imparts the rich earthy taste of corn that has been roasted “Island Style” over an open flame."

Roasted over an open flame? Sounds like a Luau to me, Jack.  I can get so much dip on these chips it's crazy. Shaped like the back end of your surf board, no lie!  If Toddzilla wants some for his surf shop he should contac t us.  Aloha and get the guacamole!

Tummy Growling? Look for Healthy Vending Options

I am sure you have been there. You have spent the day surfing or on the beach with your family. All the snacks were eaten on the beach, or perhaps they were eaten in the car on the way to your next destination. You are trying to eat as healthy as possible, but your schedule sometimes gets tight, which causes you to eat on the run occasionally. Whether you are at work on an empty stomach or at the hospital visiting a loved one, you will find healthy vending options in your nearest snack machines.
One of those healthy vending options is Whale Tail's Blue Corn Tortilla Chips infused with Chia. Chia seed is a super food that contains omega-3 fatty acids, and omega-3's are known to lower cholesterol.
They are also a good source of fiber, protein, calcium, magnesium and phosphorous. For hundreds of years, this tiny seed was used by the Aztecs as their main energy source. Plant Sources of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Cleveland Clinic
Not only is it healthy to eat our chips, it is incredibly fun too. The tortilla chips are shaped like a whale's tail.
Having the Chia infused into the Corn Chips is not the only reason that the chips are healthy for you. All varieties of Whales Tail's Chips are made with Organic Corn that is grown in the USA. Our chips are naturally gluten free. They do not contain any genetically modified organisms or Trans Fat, and they are kosher.
Next time your tummy is growling, and you are far from a carrot stick but near a vending machine, look for our organic tortilla chips. We have 3 varieties.
  • Original Yellow Corn Chips with “Alaea” Red Gourmet Hawaiian Sea Salt
  • Hawaiian Barbeque Flavor Chip
  • Blue Tor"Chia" Chips
